# Mindsnap vs Pico AI

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Mindsnap at 48% against Pico AI's 0%. Mindsnap also leads on monetization model (freemium vs subscription). Pico AI's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mindsnap sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and Pico AI sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pico AI holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 297 and 202 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of Mindsnap's written reviews are positive against 0% of Pico AI's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
