# Virtual Number & SMS vs Friendly

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Friendly at 50% against Virtual Number & SMS's 0%. Friendly also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). Virtual Number & SMS's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (55 vs 4). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Virtual Number & SMS sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Friendly sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Virtual Number & SMS holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Virtual Number & SMS has 55 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Virtual Number & SMS's written reviews are positive against 50% of Friendly's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Virtual Number & SMS ships an update every 2 months, Friendly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
