# Bug ID vs Bug Scanner

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Bug ID at 814 against Bug Scanner's 3. Bug ID also leads on rating (4.0 vs 3.7). Bug Scanner's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bug ID sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Bug Scanner sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bug ID holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bug ID has 814 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Bug ID ships an update every 5 weeks, Bug Scanner every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
