# Solid Planner vs Obsession

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Obsession at none against Solid Planner's 2. Obsession also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). Solid Planner's advantage is ratings volume (10 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Solid Planner sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Obsession asks for nothing beyond the download.

Obsession holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Solid Planner has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Solid Planner ships an update monthly, Obsession fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 27, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
