# Flownote vs Open Planner

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Open Planner at 100% against Flownote's 48%. Open Planner also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Flownote's advantage is ratings volume (2.5K vs 11) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 10 days). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flownote sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Open Planner sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Open Planner holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flownote has 2.5K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 48% of Flownote's written reviews are positive against 100% of Open Planner's.

Flownote ships an update every 5 days, Open Planner every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
