# GPS Live Location vs Earth Spot Map

The clearest difference is update cadence: Earth Spot Map at every 2 weeks against GPS Live Location's every 3 months. Earth Spot Map also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). GPS Live Location's advantage is ratings volume (42 vs 7). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GPS Live Location sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Earth Spot Map sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for GPS Live Location against 5.0 for Earth Spot Map. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GPS Live Location has 42 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.

GPS Live Location ships an update every 3 months, Earth Spot Map every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
