# PIMPIT vs Mechanic

The clearest difference is rating: Mechanic at 4.7 against PIMPIT's 3.7. Mechanic also leads on ratings volume (681 vs 12) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). PIMPIT's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 32). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mechanic sells 32 one-off in-app purchases. PIMPIT asks for nothing beyond the download.

Mechanic holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mechanic has 681 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of PIMPIT's written reviews are positive against 60% of Mechanic's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PIMPIT ships an update every 3 weeks, Mechanic every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
