# TV Remote vs Loop

The clearest difference is monetization model: TV Remote at free with in-app purchases against Loop's subscription. TV Remote also leads on ratings volume (483 vs 6) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 weeks). Loop's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TV Remote sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and Loop sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Loop holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TV Remote has 483 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

TV Remote ships an update every 6 days, Loop every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
