# RC UFO vs Security Home

The clearest difference is rating: Security Home at 4.3 against RC UFO's 2.4. Security Home also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (11K vs 166). RC UFO's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 7) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 3 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Security Home sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. RC UFO asks for nothing beyond the download.

Security Home holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Security Home has 11K ratings behind it against 166, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 28% of RC UFO's written reviews are positive against 19% of Security Home's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

RC UFO ships an update every 2 months, Security Home every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
