# Teacher AI vs SpeakPal

The clearest difference is monetization model: SpeakPal at free with in-app purchases against Teacher AI's subscription. SpeakPal also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.4). Teacher AI's advantage is review sentiment (46% vs 33%) and ratings volume (269 vs 31). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Teacher AI sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per month and SpeakPal sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $11.90 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SpeakPal holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Teacher AI has 269 ratings behind it against 31, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 46% of Teacher AI's written reviews are positive against 33% of SpeakPal's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Teacher AI ships an update fortnightly, SpeakPal every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
