# HitProxy vs VPN

The clearest difference is rating: VPN at 4.6 against HitProxy's 3.2. VPN also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (4.6K vs 171). HitProxy's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and device support (3 vs 1). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. HitProxy asks for nothing beyond the download.

VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN has 4.6K ratings behind it against 171, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 45% of HitProxy's written reviews are positive against 57% of VPN's.

HitProxy ships an update every 6 weeks, VPN every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
