# Ripples vs Lume.

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Ripples at 235 against Lume.'s 2. Lume.'s advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ripples sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Lume. sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lume. holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ripples has 235 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 93% of Ripples's written reviews are positive against 100% of Lume.'s.

Ripples ships an update fortnightly, Lume. every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
