# ScanWallet vs SmartNote

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ScanWallet at 86% against SmartNote's 50%. ScanWallet also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (128 vs 10). SmartNote's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ScanWallet sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and SmartNote sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ScanWallet holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ScanWallet has 128 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 86% of ScanWallet's written reviews are positive against 50% of SmartNote's.

ScanWallet ships an update every 2 weeks, SmartNote every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and September 25, 2026 respectively.
