# EmuNES XL vs Dolphin Emulator

The clearest difference is rating: EmuNES XL at 3.0 against Dolphin Emulator's 2.0. EmuNES XL also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). Dolphin Emulator's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (19% vs 0%). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dolphin Emulator sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month. EmuNES XL asks for nothing beyond the download.

EmuNES XL holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Dolphin Emulator has 196 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of EmuNES XL's written reviews are positive against 19% of Dolphin Emulator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
