# Wittle Defender vs SCRAP by emptypenz

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SCRAP by emptypenz at 100% against Wittle Defender's 55%. SCRAP by emptypenz also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs monthly). Wittle Defender's advantage is ratings volume (3.3K vs 6) and rating (4.5 vs 4.2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Wittle Defender sells 11 one-off in-app purchases and SCRAP by emptypenz sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Wittle Defender holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Wittle Defender has 3.3K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Wittle Defender's written reviews are positive against 100% of SCRAP by emptypenz's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Wittle Defender ships an update monthly, SCRAP by emptypenz every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
