Find out if your calling would bring in a bull or turn a flock of mallards before opening day, not during it. MtnWispr listens to your elk and duck calling and scores it against expert reference calls. You get a number and, on most calls, a plain-English correction telling you exactly what to fix. Then you call again. HOW IT WORKS 1. Pick a species and a call, then hit record. At home, in the truck, or at camp. 2. Get scored in seconds. 3. Read the correction and hear the difference. Play the expert reference back to back with your own attempt. 4. Call again. Watch the number move. ELK CALLS Calf mew Distressed calf sequence Bull calling cows bugle Location bugle Glunking (beta) Tending bugle (beta) Elk calls are scored against real elk audio, so a call that lands on the right pitch but sounds nothing like an animal does not score well. On the four core calls, the result also breaks your call down against a real elk, so you can see what is off, not just that something is. The two beta calls show the score only. DUCK CALLS (BETA) Quack Greeting call Comeback call Feeding call 2-note confidence call 3-note confidence call Duck calls are scored against recordings by Joel Turner, a two-time state champion duck caller, and the scoring was set from his own grades. It listens to the tone of each note first, and on the sequence calls it also checks your rhythm and note count. Duck scoring is in beta: you get the score, one coaching line, and the reference to play back against your own call. THE ACADEMY Two-time World Championship elk caller Joel Turner breaks each elk call down into micro-steps: the base note, the jaw drop, the sweep, the cadence. Each step has a video, a reference clip, and a scored test so you know you have it before moving on. The elk Academy also covers elk biology and situational calling, rut phases, herd dynamics, and bull temperament, so you know which call to make and when to make it. The Duck Academy takes you through the quack, greeting, confidence, feeding and comeback calls in the order Joel uses them on a hunt. Each call has a video lesson from Joel, a two-time state champion duck caller, and a scored drill. TRACK YOUR PROGRESS Every scored attempt is saved. Watch your calf mew climb from June to August or your feeding call clean up before the opener, see which calls you have nailed and which still need work, and stop guessing whether you actually improved since last year. WHY IT WORKS Most hunters practice by blowing into a call and hoping. There is no feedback loop, so bad habits get reinforced for years. Elk members routinely find they were losing air around the edges of the call, dropping into mature cow sounds at the end of a mew, or sitting just under the ringing tone on a location bugle. On a duck call, the mistake Joel hears most is air going into the cheeks instead of coming from the gut. None of that is audible to the person making the sound. MtnWispr makes it visible. ACCOUNT REQUIRED MtnWispr is a membership service. Sign in with your existing MtnWispr account to use the app. Scoring runs on our servers, so an internet connection is required. MtnWispr was built in Idaho and trained on Joel Turner's methodology.
