# LingoQ vs EngTalk

The clearest difference is review sentiment: EngTalk at 100% against LingoQ's 54%. EngTalk also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 9 days). LingoQ's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (64 vs 4). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LingoQ sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 3 months and EngTalk sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

EngTalk holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LingoQ has 64 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 54% of LingoQ's written reviews are positive against 100% of EngTalk's.

LingoQ ships an update every 9 days, EngTalk every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
