# Raycast vs Year Progress

The clearest difference is rating: Year Progress at 5.0 against Raycast's 4.5. Raycast's advantage is ratings volume (250 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Raycast sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Year Progress sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Year Progress holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Raycast has 250 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Raycast ships an update every 11 days, Year Progress weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
