# Capture Sync vs DS Next

The clearest difference is update cadence: Capture Sync at every 5 days against DS Next's fortnightly. DS Next's advantage is iOS requirement (14.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Capture Sync sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and DS Next sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Capture Sync ships an update every 5 days, DS Next fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
