# Diskwala vs Flare

The clearest difference is rating: Flare at 3.7 against Diskwala's 2.6. Flare also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). Diskwala's advantage is ratings volume (130 vs 3). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Diskwala sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Flare sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flare holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Diskwala has 130 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 5% of Diskwala's written reviews are positive against 0% of Flare's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Diskwala ships an update every 3 weeks, Flare weekly. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
