# Steps vs fitbite

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: fitbite at none against Steps's 1. fitbite also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). Steps's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Steps sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. fitbite asks for nothing beyond the download.

Steps ships an update every 3 weeks, fitbite every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
