# Sum Puff vs Puff Log

The clearest difference is rating: Sum Puff at 4.5 against Puff Log's 3.6. Sum Puff also leads on ratings volume (517 vs 5). Puff Log's advantage is review sentiment (43% vs 9%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sum Puff sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Puff Log sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Sum Puff holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sum Puff has 517 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 9% of Sum Puff's written reviews are positive against 43% of Puff Log's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sum Puff ships an update every 8 days, Puff Log every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
