# Carrier SmartHome vs Vanderhall

The clearest difference is rating: Vanderhall at 5.0 against Carrier SmartHome's 3.5. Vanderhall also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Carrier SmartHome's advantage is ratings volume (2.5K vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Vanderhall holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Carrier SmartHome has 2.5K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Carrier SmartHome ships an update fortnightly, Vanderhall every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
