# Scan QR Code Now vs QR & Barcode Pro

The clearest difference is ads: QR & Barcode Pro at none against Scan QR Code Now's shown. QR & Barcode Pro also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 87%). Scan QR Code Now's advantage is update cadence (every 10 days vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (13K vs 6). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scan QR Code Now sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and QR & Barcode Pro sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scan QR Code Now holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scan QR Code Now has 13K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 87% of Scan QR Code Now's written reviews are positive against 100% of QR & Barcode Pro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Scan QR Code Now ships an update every 10 days, QR & Barcode Pro every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
