# Scan QR Code Now vs QR Code Reader

The clearest difference is monetization model: Scan QR Code Now at free with in-app purchases against QR Code Reader's subscription. Scan QR Code Now also leads on ratings volume (13K vs 1.2K) and chart position (#23 vs unranked). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scan QR Code Now sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and QR Code Reader sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
