# Aako vs Self

The clearest difference is ads: Aako at none against Self's shown. Self's advantage is ratings volume (2.3K vs 7) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Aako sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Self sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Aako against 4.9 for Self. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Self has 2.3K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Aako's written reviews are positive against 95% of Self's.

Aako ships an update every 8 days, Self weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
