# PDF Converter vs SmartFolder

The clearest difference is rating: SmartFolder at 4.6 against PDF Converter's 4.0. SmartFolder also leads on ratings volume (69 vs 4) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). PDF Converter's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Converter sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and SmartFolder sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SmartFolder holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SmartFolder has 69 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

PDF Converter ships an update every 2 months, SmartFolder every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
