# Trace vs Took!

The clearest difference is rating: Trace at 4.2 against Took!'s 4.0. Trace also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 5 days) and device support (4 vs 2). Took!'s advantage is review sentiment (89% vs 77%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Trace sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Took! sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Trace holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 18 and 5 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of Trace's written reviews are positive against 89% of Took!'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Trace ships an update every 2 days, Took! every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
