# NÜR vs Onyx Studios

The clearest difference is monetization model: NÜR at free against Onyx Studios's free with in-app purchases. Onyx Studios's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (47 vs 3). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for NÜR against 5.0 for Onyx Studios. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Onyx Studios has 47 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

NÜR ships an update every 2 months, Onyx Studios every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 15, 2026.
