# Crunchyroll vs Oby Adventure

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Oby Adventure at 53% against Crunchyroll's 0%. Oby Adventure also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (25 vs 2). Crunchyroll's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.4) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Crunchyroll sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $13.99 per month and Oby Adventure sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Crunchyroll holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Oby Adventure has 25 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Crunchyroll's written reviews are positive against 53% of Oby Adventure's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Crunchyroll ships an update every 2 months, Oby Adventure every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
