# Screaming Bean vs Ration

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Screaming Bean at none against Ration's 6. Screaming Bean also leads on iOS requirement (18.0 vs 26.0). Ration's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ration sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.00 per month. Screaming Bean asks for nothing beyond the download.

Screaming Bean ships an update every 6 weeks, Ration every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
