# PDF App vs PDF Scanner App

PDF App and PDF Scanner App both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of PDF Scanner App's written reviews are positive against 37% of PDF App's. PDF Scanner App also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). PDF App's advantage is ratings volume (950 vs 24) and iOS requirement (15.4 vs 17.6). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF App sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and PDF Scanner App sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PDF Scanner App holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF App has 950 ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 37% of PDF App's written reviews are positive against 100% of PDF Scanner App's.

PDF App ships an update every 5 weeks, PDF Scanner App every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
