# CDL Pass vs Virtual CDL Simulator

The clearest difference is ratings volume: CDL Pass at 219 against Virtual CDL Simulator's 2. Virtual CDL Simulator's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs weekly) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for CDL Pass against 5.0 for Virtual CDL Simulator. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CDL Pass has 219 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

CDL Pass ships an update weekly, Virtual CDL Simulator every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
