# Dot Lab vs Perler Moo

The clearest difference is rating: Perler Moo at 4.8 against Dot Lab's 4.5. Dot Lab's advantage is review sentiment (96% vs 86%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dot Lab sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Perler Moo sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Perler Moo holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 12 and 6 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 96% of Dot Lab's written reviews are positive against 86% of Perler Moo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Dot Lab ships an update fortnightly, Perler Moo weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
