# Night Zookeeper vs Happy Digits

The clearest difference is monetization model: Happy Digits at free with in-app purchases against Night Zookeeper's subscription. Happy Digits also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Night Zookeeper's advantage is ratings volume (613 vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Night Zookeeper sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and Happy Digits sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Happy Digits holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Night Zookeeper has 613 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Night Zookeeper ships an update every 2 months, Happy Digits every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
