# YiDa vs Bear VPN

The clearest difference is rating: Bear VPN at 4.8 against YiDa's 4.3. Bear VPN also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks) and ratings volume (11K vs 166). YiDa's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (63% vs 40%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. YiDa sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and Bear VPN sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bear VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bear VPN has 11K ratings behind it against 166, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of YiDa's written reviews are positive against 40% of Bear VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

YiDa ships an update every 5 weeks, Bear VPN weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
