# Period vs Nowa

The clearest difference is iOS requirement: Nowa at 12.0 against Period's 15.1. On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Period sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Nowa sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
