# Lorex Connect vs Pretake

The clearest difference is update cadence: Pretake at every 9 days against Lorex Connect's every 3 weeks. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lorex Connect sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Pretake sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lorex Connect ships an update every 3 weeks, Pretake every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
