# Notro vs NoteGen

The clearest difference is review sentiment: NoteGen at 76% against Notro's 40%. NoteGen also leads on ratings volume (474 vs 2). Notro's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notro sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and NoteGen sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Notro holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NoteGen has 474 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of Notro's written reviews are positive against 76% of NoteGen's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Notro ships an update every 6 days, NoteGen weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
