# Time Machine vs Unbox Me

The clearest difference is rating: Unbox Me at 3.0 against Time Machine's 2.8. Unbox Me also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Time Machine sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Unbox Me sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Unbox Me holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 2.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Time Machine's written reviews are positive against 50% of Unbox Me's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Time Machine ships an update every 6 weeks, Unbox Me fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
