# Scribe vs Notes

The clearest difference is ads: Scribe at none against Notes's shown. Scribe also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 11 days) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Notes's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (14 vs 4). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scribe sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Notes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scribe holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 14 respectively.

Scribe ships an update every 4 days, Notes every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
