# SimplePets vs Doris

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SimplePets at 100% against Doris's 47%. SimplePets also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). Doris's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 3.0). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Doris holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of SimplePets's written reviews are positive against 47% of Doris's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SimplePets ships an update every 2 weeks, Doris every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
