# Lumen VPN vs Bora

The clearest difference is rating: Bora at 4.7 against Lumen VPN's 3.2. Bora also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (86% vs 62%). Lumen VPN's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lumen VPN sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Bora sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
