# Tom VPN vs Netriva

The clearest difference is ads: Netriva at none against Tom VPN's shown. Netriva also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks) and review sentiment (100% vs 83%). Tom VPN's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (1.4K vs 59). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tom VPN sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Netriva sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Tom VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tom VPN has 1.4K ratings behind it against 59, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Tom VPN's written reviews are positive against 100% of Netriva's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tom VPN ships an update every 2 weeks, Netriva every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 23, 2026.
