# Distorted Camera vs Just Smile

The clearest difference is price: Just Smile at Free against Distorted Camera's $2.99. Just Smile also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 60%). Distorted Camera's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.0) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On ads, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Just Smile is free to download; Distorted Camera costs $2.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Distorted Camera holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Distorted Camera has 10 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Distorted Camera's written reviews are positive against 100% of Just Smile's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Distorted Camera ships an update fortnightly, Just Smile every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
