# 4um vs Loop

The clearest difference is rating: Loop at 5.0 against 4um's 3.7. Loop also leads on update cadence (weekly vs monthly) and ratings volume (21 vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Loop holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Loop has 21 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

4um ships an update monthly, Loop weekly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
