# Feld Hellschreiber vs HamAlert

The clearest difference is price: HamAlert at Free against Feld Hellschreiber's $2.99. HamAlert also leads on rating (4.0 vs 2.8) and update cadence (every 5 months vs every 13 months). Feld Hellschreiber's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 67%) and iOS requirement (6.0 vs 15.6). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

HamAlert is free to download; Feld Hellschreiber costs $2.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

HamAlert holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HamAlert has 34 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Feld Hellschreiber's written reviews are positive against 67% of HamAlert's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Feld Hellschreiber ships an update every 13 months, HamAlert every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
