# Chipolo vs Tessie

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Chipolo at none against Tessie's 17. Tessie's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tessie sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Chipolo asks for nothing beyond the download.

Tessie holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 18K and 9.7K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of Chipolo's written reviews are positive against 64% of Tessie's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Chipolo ships an update every 3 weeks, Tessie weekly. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
