# Chipolo vs LARQ

The clearest difference is monetization model: LARQ at free against Chipolo's free with in-app purchases. Chipolo's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and update cadence (weekly vs monthly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Chipolo holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chipolo has 18K ratings behind it against 610, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 69% of Chipolo's written reviews are positive against 54% of LARQ's.

Chipolo ships an update weekly, LARQ monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
