# Chipolo vs Lutron App

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Chipolo at 69% against Lutron App's 47%. Lutron App's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Lutron App holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 18K and 6.6K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of Chipolo's written reviews are positive against 47% of Lutron App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Chipolo ships an update weekly, Lutron App every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
